The Cost of Pau d'Arco Continually increasing... I have donated many thousands of my dollars in organizing and presenting the results of my intense research on the subject of Pau d'Arco Tea. I feel that I am the foremost authority on this subject in the world. I feel well rewarded from my efforts. Recently there have been presented many new articles on the Internet authored by medical experts that relate the herb as a treatment for cancer. This has never occurred in recent history. Here's one example. I personally believe that that the herb will be researched properly by our medical society here in the U.S. in the near future. The N.C.I. has ignored this needed project for far too many years.
I have been retailing Pau d'Arco Tea for the past year and a half since no one specializes in selling the bulk herb in sufficient quantities. There is a very limited (sometimes non-existent) supply of the bark being imported into the U.S. at this time. I initially started to sell the tea at a significant loss. I I've increased the price on two occasions to new customers (price remained the same for old customers). Still, I have never derived a profit from my project. I have sold the tea at a ridiculously low price compared to the real world market! The "real world" market price for the herb is anywhere between $50 to $100 per pound at this time. The demand has become overwhelming although I have never marketed nor advertised the product beyond my Internet web site. I simply cannot handle the increasing demand. It has never been my objective to "make a bunch of money" from my efforts. I'm financially "comfortable" with the retirement benefits as an airline captain and other investments.
The present market cost of Pau d'Arco bark is still insignificant compared to the cost of prescription drugs (most with severe side effects) and other treatments such as Taxol at the cost of $14,000 per treatment. Chemotherapy costs between $4,000 and $8,000 per treatment. Radiation treatments about the same. Surgery is the doctors' big money maker at a charge of $35,000 and $50,000 per operation... and these procedures are not known cures for cancer. They are the results of having cancer. I have found that Pau d'Arco Tea is totally harmless and the cost of a month's supply of the herb is truly insignificant.
All cancer clinics are very expensive yet most admit that they have no treatment for the cure of cancer. They focus soley on nutritional programs and building the immune system. There are now at least three clinics in the U.S. now prescribing Pau d'Arco tea for cancer victims... and I'll take the credit for that...
The retail cost of Pau d'Arco will continue to increase due to "supply and demand". I have received several e-mails saying that customers have found other sources to purchase the tea at much lower prices ($9 to $15 per pound). I've purchased several of these products myself just to see what is offered. Although the products seem to be the authentic herb, it is processed into a powdered or rough grind (chunks of wood) product. Traditionally, only the "fine grind" or "tea bag cut" is used for the preparation of the tea. The actual botanical species is often absent and who knows the actual source of any of these low cost products? Additionally, these sources have no or very limited quantities available. They lack any proper preparation instructions or other information regarding their product. The fact remains that you get what you pay for...
Health practitioners are now using the Pau d'Arco herb as a treatment for cancer as well as other serious diseases. They are also creating new and unique procedures for helping many hopeless victims and are researching and developing new remarkable products such as an ointment, suppositories and a concentrate. The cost of these projects is quite high and their overhead costs are very large. Considering that I have insignificant overhead costs and still lost money selling the tea at ridiculously low prices and the fact that the availability of any quantities of the bulk herb in the U.S. is nearly non-existent, the price of Pau d'Arco Tea is a bargain at any cost at or below $100 a pound. When the information about the amazing curing powers of the simple herb called Pau d'Arco hits the national news reports the price will increase very dramatically...
Use the Tea Grinds Again! At least 50 percent more tea... You can increase the use of the bark by at least 50 percent if you reuse the tea grinds a second time. I've talked to several long time users of the tea and they report that they extend the use of the tea by making a second batch of the tea using the original grinds. I suggest that you add a small amount (maybe a tablespoon per quart) of new tea to the old tea grinds and boil a second batch of the tea. Strain and mix the two batches together and you have an equally effective brew. More economical use of the herb...
